Description

Priests and Priestess are granted some of the finest and most difficult to produce clothing. Their primary garb is a long, unisex tunic made of soft leather and dyed green. Green is one of the hardest colors to dye in Phanes Bay, now that people are limited to natural dyes. Milkweed and Nettle are two of the few plants in central North America that produce green dye. Underneath they wear black pants made of hemp. Most priests and priestess adorn themselves in some way with quartz jewelry but never too much. They prefer a minimalist style, letting the material of their clothing speak for their status. The exception to this is rabbit fur. Rabbits are sacred, and thus only the highest ranked officials can wear it. Once a priest/priestess has been promoted high enough to wear rabbit, they go all out. Rabbit fur shawls are worn year round, even in summer, and hats, gloves and leggings are popular in the winter.
